Hello!
We hope you are doing well and getting ready for Thanksgiving. While many of us may not be with family and friends in person this year for the holiday, we understand that people are finding many creative ways to celebrate and come together virtually. A couple of our upcoming events are helping to do just that.
This morning at 8:30am is the Annual Westchester/Fairfield County Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast. This annual event brings hundreds of people together to honor our diverse backgrounds and should not be missed! It is not too late to register--(if you are an early riser this morning. Then on Saturday evening, November 21st, we will come together again to celebrate at The Biennial Night of Music & Joy where the beautiful voices of Kol Hazzanim/The Cantors of Westchester will bring music into our homes. This year's theme, Together at Home, could not be more relevant. Details can be found below for both of these events. Thank you to our wonderful partners at AJC Westchester/ Fairfield and the Cantors of our community for being such wonderful partners!
We welcome three new member organizations into the Westchester Jewish Council family this week, Community Security Service (CSS), Keshet and Sanctuary NY. Each of these organizations contribute so much to our community and will be introduced to you in the newsletter over the next few weeks. We look forward to their participation in our magnificent Council of organizations!
We wish you a healthy weekend and Shabbat shalom,
Shabbat Shalom

New Book Release! “Be A Mensch: Unleash Your Power to Be Kind and Help Others” by Elisa Udaskin (a Council Business Partner)
Live a more satisfying life and improve relationships by giving more of yourself to others.
Who doesn’t want to be a mensch? Someone who exudes kindness, integrity, and honor. The type of person who knows what to say when a friend’s loved one passes away or how to react with empathy and grace when someone at work is being a total schmuck. The kind of person your bubbie or grandma would be proud of.
Getting into the mensch mindset takes practice. But simple shifts in your approach to everyday interactions can help you find your inner mensch, revitalizing and strengthening your personal and professional relationships and the values you pass on to your family.
A collection of humorous stories and practical advice—sprinkled with a healthy dose of Yiddish humor—Be a Mensch shows how to incorporate kindness into your daily life and help others through difficult situations. It challenges you to get off your tuches and get involved, not only to help others but to improve your own life too.
