This week we're presenting Gallery 360, Boston Sculptors Gallery and Newport Art Museum.
As long as art has pushed boundaries, it has asked viewers to consider and tackle difficult, complicated and sometimes overwhelming issues and ideas. This week's three solo exhibitions do just that with installations that consider humanity's relationship to the natural world, the tension of isolation within late-stage industrial capitalism and beliefs of interconnection between all things.
The May/June edition of Artscope Magazine is now available. Want more Artscope? Visit artscopemagazine.com and sign up for online access to see all of our articles, reviews, spotlights and profiles any time, anywhere.

Image courtesy Gallery 360. | | Gallery 360 at Northeastern University presents Hannah Perrine Mode: Remote Sensing, an exhibition that explores "geologic forces, stewardship, and memory-keeping through place-based making and cross-disciplinary exchange." It is the first major solo show by artist, educator, and researcher Hannah Perrine Mode. A multi-disciplinary show that captures landscapes primarily between New England and Alaska, it asks viewers to "consider how climate systems are seen, felt, and understood from a distance — offering a window into landscapes both miles away and in our backyard." The gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gallery 360 is located at 1st Floor of Curry Student Center near Ell Hall; 360 Huntington Ave, Boston MA. Hillel O’Leary: Unmanned Vessel at Boston Sculptors Gallery
in Boston, Massachusetts through July 13

Boston Sculptors Gallery presents Hillel O’Leary: Unmanned Vessel, a show that "centers on an
immersive site-specific installation of an unearthed queer futurist doomsday bunker." It is also the debut solo exhibition for Providence-based, non-binary, culturally Jewish artist, educator, advocate, and multidisciplinary designer Hillel O'Leary. Through a sculptural environment that evokes the imagery and language of history museum exhibits, and utilizes abstract and conceptual sculptural works, "the bunker sets the stage for examining the tension and anxiety between authenticity and camouflage, isolation and community, the sacred and profane, interwoven with the precarity of late-stage industrial capitalism." The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and by appointment. Boston Sculptors Gallery is located at 486 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA. For more information, please visit here.
