Middle School students-- please share your spirit through this flipgrid: https://flipgrid.com/stanley5742

Normally during Teacher Appreciation week, we see students coming into the building with flowers, breakfast treats, even special coffee drinks for their teachers. This year is so weirdly different! What ISN'T different though, is the incredible care and support that our teachers show for their students.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and I hope you will join me in expressing our thanks to the committed faculty at Roycemore. Our faculty shows a remarkable degree of care for the students of Roycemore, and it is that care that helps make this such a special school. I encourage all members of our community to take a moment this week to thank them for their great work in service of our students, particularly in these difficult times.

One of the long-standing traditions each spring at Roycemore is an all-school assembly to recognize the dedication and excellence of Roycemore teachers. Created by our Board of Trustees many years ago, we gather together and cheer on our teachers as we show a video highlighting all of our teachers, with special recognition for years of service. We invite EVERYONE to join us this THURSDAY at 11am as we embrace this tradition virtually! Please click the link below ahead of time to register in advance and ZOOM will send you a reminder with the login.

Join us Tuesday for a Fun Cinco De Meet-O
to meet new Middle School Head, Adrienne Floro

Join us May 5th at 3pm to meet Adrienne Floro (our new Middle School Head) for a fun way to get to know each other and for you to share with her about Roycemore and help her know more about our community.

She is hoping both parents and students will join! To make the meeting more festive, she's creating authentic Loteria (Mexican Bingo) boards for everyone attending  the Zoom  so we can play as we connect.

Adrienne will send each person joining the Meet-O their own board. If an entire family joins, she will send you several individual boards.

Families should gather dry beans or small rocks as their authentic Board markers if they choose to print our their boards. Mrs. Floro is excited to play Loteria with her new school community!

The Scholarship Fundraiser is just around the corner and you are invited to participate along with your parents. to make it more fun, we are asking you to consider making a video.

Ms. Wilson made a  wonderful video ,  please check it out and she will explain everything!

After that, check out the options
  1. Tell us about a time when Roycemore Make YOUR world a Better Place, help us understand about that moment. Like Ms. Wilson Said!
  2. If that is hard, try this one! What is your favorite Roycemore Tradition and why? Here is an example from 5th Grader, Lenora Schnitge
  3. if this is more your style, try What is the “MORE” in Roycemore to you? Here is an example from Senior, Cara Marantz

Individualized Math Continues in Remote Learning
Ms. Erb's math foundations class was working on a concept review for a quiz. Utilizing the "breakout rooms" feature in ZOOM, she split the class into groups so they could work in small groups like they used to do in class. Two of the groups decided to have one person be the "teacher" and share their screen as they did the problems. This was a great way to support Roycemore's continued commitment to differentiation for students, and provided an opportunity for Ms. Erb to support students on a more individual basis. Several students enjoyed the work so much that they stayed on after class to continue to work in their groups.
ATTENDANCE : Middle School students will STILL NEED to enter their attendance each day as they did before spring break. In addition, teachers will be taking attendance for the synchronous classes, so students are expected to "show up."
