We asked Bijou what he thought about when we decided to use "Deliberate Strokes" as one of his Bijouisms. He responded with a few descriptive words, "Careful, intentional, meaningful, and purposeful are all things that come to mind when I think about deliberate strokes."

He paused and shared a little more, "I would love this Bijouism to inspire and remind artists to allow themselves to pour their hearts into each stroke that goes down on their tile. I want them to embrace all of the unique imperfections that make their mark theirs."

"As an artist, they should learn to own each stroke as theirs and only theirs and develop a sense of awareness of how important they are to this process." Bijou added, "I always loved Dolly Parton's quote above as it took me a while to discover who I was, but once I did, I realized how important it was for me to be me ... purposefully, proudly and deliberately."
