It's here...our favorite month of the year. While May may be National Bike Month, June is Colorado Bike Month.
This year we are excited to be taking part or hosting many of your favorite events including Open Streets, Juneteenth Family Bike Ride & Celebration, Summer Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day, the Bike From Work Bash, BFC Happy Hour. Not to mention some new bike shop opening celebrations. As we like to say, it's an entire month of bike reverie.

Over 50 Riders Take Part in Ride of Silence

Each year, on the third Wednesday of May the Ride of Silence is held nationwide in remembrance and “to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured on America’s roadways.” As the community’s advocacy organization for safe streets, Bike Fort Collins takes ownership of and accepts the role of leading this emotionally event locally to honor individuals in our community who have either been seriously injured or lost their lives in a bicycle crash. Join us at this years Open Streets, we will be located in Hub #2, the Kaiser Permanente HUB, located on Landings Drive near Spinnaker Lane.
At Open Streets, participants can expect 1-2 miles of car-free, family-friendly streets. Participants are encouraged to Ride the Route and explore areas called “Activity Hubs”- temporary clusters of activity provided by local businesses and organizations. Open Streets routes are generally considered walkable and bikeable, and include attractive neighborhood elements such as parks and other key destinations like churches, schools, and commercial centers. Juneteenth Family Bike Ride & Celebration

Saturday, June 17th - Foothills Mall
8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join Fort Collins' Juneteenth celebration with this family-friendly bike ride along the Mason and Spring Creek Trails, starting and ending on the lawn of the Foothills Mall.
Main celebration featuring a Black and Brown owned vendor market, food trucks, live entertainment, face painting, educational opportunities, TikTok dance party, and much more. Look for our tent/table on the west side of the movie theater. MORE INFO HERE

Summer Bike to Work (or Wherever) Day 2023

Wednesday, June 28th
Some have described it as "Fort Collins' best holiday". Others love the celebration of people who ride bicycles. During BT(W)D, community members are encouraged to travel by bike wherever they're headed, be it work, errands, to drop kids to daycare, or just for fun. Participants who ditch the car in favor of a bicycle can find free breakfast located all around Fort Collins. MORE INFO HERE

This is the premier hijinks and hooligans event of the year for Bike Fort Collins! Bike Prom 2023 will once again be powered by the FoCo Bike Mob and promises to be loud-er and proud-er than last year. Stay tuned for more information, but in the meantime SAVE THE DATE!

Cooper Construction is an exterior general contractor, specializing in Roofing, Gutters, Painting, Siding and Windows serving all of Colorado. They can assist with repairing home exteriors while making it impervious to the weather and maintaining great curb appeal.
As we enter the summer and hailstorm season, remember that Cooper Construction will donate $1,000 to Bike Fort Collins in a member’s name when they contract with Cooper for a new or replacement roof.
