Bike Share is Finally Here!
This week the City of Santa Barbara and BCycle have started installing bike docks for a new fleet of electric bikes downtown. The system will include 250 electric bikes, which members of the public will be able to unlock from and return to numerous dock locations across the city.

You have likely come across bike share programs in other cities. They are a GREAT way for locals and visitors alike to hop around for short trips to shop, visit a restaurant or explore new destinations.

Communities with bike share programs have reported many benefits including increased health and wellness for its communities, a zero carbon emission choice for transportation as well as increased patronage of businesses near the bike dock locations.

The in-street bike dock locations for the initial pilot program include:

Bank of the West, Night Lizard Brewery, Lululemon, Montecito Bank & Trust, Paseo Nuevo, Restoration Hardware, Carlitos, The Apple Store, the previous Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Energy Tattoo, The Habit Burger Grill, CVS, Old Navy, Natasha and Msky.

You or your business can purchase an annual membership for your employees or anyone can pay as you go each time you use a bike.
