You are receiving this newsletter to keep you updated regarding Bill 36, now known as the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA). This grassroots campaign began in April 2023 and since then volunteers throughout the province have been helping educate the citizens of BC. The impact of the HPOA could cause further weakening of Health Care in BC. We believe the HPOA and similar bills could spread across Canada if we don’t take action!

If you have a favourite MD, Massage Therapist, Naturopathic doctor, or Chiropractor you may be losing them to another province or retirement if they refuse to work under this new Act.

The worst aspect of this Act is that many of your MLAs, health care professionals, and citizens are not aware of the HPOA and what it could potentially pave the way for. 

BC Doctors at the Canadian Society for Science & Ethics in Medicine (CSSEM) hosts the Bill 36 packet materials and further information.

Action Steps You Can Take:

1. LISTEN to the 2- minute doctor recording message: (604) 659-9476. Add to your contacts.
2. a) PRINT the pre-addressed perforated postcard. Fold, fill in and mail the card

the address already on the postcard.

b) ONLINE option: Share the Newsletter Subscribe link with others where

they can simply request a postcard to be mailed on their behalf by saying

"Yes" in the form.

3.SHARE this email, newsletter and doctor recording with others.

4.VOLUNTEER in your local community with Bill 36 tables at events, clinics and

businesses.
