 Words of appreciation from candidates
with messages to the voters.
Livonia's first female mayor ready to serve
On the first day after the election Brosnan was interviewed by Channel 4

Maureen Miller Brosnan
I want to thank all of my supporters, our campaign team, and the volunteers who made this historic victory possible.

Throughout this campaign, we have connected with thousands of Livonia residents about the future of our community. We know that Livonia is an exceptional city with a bright future.

Our campaign has laid the groundwork for a clear agenda for Livonia's future, and I am honored to be chosen to lead the city as we enact that vision. I can't wait to serve you as Mayor.

Thank you, Livonia. Let's get to work!

Laura Toy
I want to thank all of the volunteers who worked so hard on this campaign for me. I know this is a tough loss for many of my friends and supporters, but I want to assure them that I will continue to be involved in our great city.

The voters of Livonia have spoken and we must respect that. I'm proud that we ran a positive campaign - that was a decision I made which I felt was very important and I stand by that decision.

I look forward to continuing to ensure accountability for residents in my ongoing role on the City Council. I will seek to work with the new administration, but also to ask the tough questions when appropriate for the constituents that I serve.

Jim Davis
Thank You so much today to all my supporters, friends, church members, neighbors, new friends, face book friends and to my family for everything you have done over the last six months to help me in my campaign for City Council!!! I am humbled and I am a better person for your efforts. THANK YOU!  Jim Davis , Dad, Husband, Friend!

Greg Coppola
Almost six months ago, I started the journey to become a newly minted Livonia City Council Member. Full of confidence, I plowed full bore into the campaign with  the encouragement and support of family and friends. I believed then, as I still do today, that my experience coupled with my dedication to the community would resonate with the citizens and I would have a good chance of achieving my goal. I have never questioned my decision to run and consider the experience to be life changing.

While falling short of my goal, I am humbled and honored by all of the support received throughout the community. I sincerely enjoyed meeting all the people I have encountered and the new friends I have made during the campaign. These are treasures I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

To the successful candidates, congratulations. You have all worked very hard during the campaign and earned your success. Now the real hard work begins. Livonia's future prosperity is in your hands. The citizens will be watching.

Lastly, thank you to all that supported me during the campaign, whether financially, by volunteering, providing encouragement or placing a supporting social media post. I wouldn't have had the opportunity to be at this stage without you. A very special thank you to my wife and family for enduring the long campaign and standing behind me through thick and thin.

My involvement in the community was not a means to an end and you have my promise that I will continue to be dedicated to the commitments and organizations I have been a part of well before this campaign. I am proud to be a citizen of Livonia and wouldn't live anywhere else.

I look forward to seeing you out in the community and wish you all the best over the fast approaching holiday season.

I would like to thank everyone for your support and confidence during the election process! Unfortunately as you may know I lost the race but didn't lose the love of the voters! I am going to take a break to regroup and see what's next. Thank you Livonia!

Kathleen McIntyre
Thank you to everyone who supported my campaign and voted for me yesterday. I am honored and humbled by the election results and am proud of the campaign we ran.
Congratulations to my friend Scott Bahr on his outstanding campaign. Scott is an esteemed colleague and a man of intelligence and integrity, and there was literally a razor's edge of difference in our respective vote totals. Congratulations to the two new members of Livonia City Council, Rob Donovic and Brandon McCu llough, I look forward to serving with them.

And finally congratulations to two outstanding people: Council President Laura Toy and Council Candidate Jim Davis.

Laura has served our community with great dedication and love for many, many years. She is loyal, kind and ran a great, positive campaign. It will be a privilege and joy to continue to serve on Council with her, and our community will continue to benefit from Laura's hard work, integrity and deep ties to our residents.

Jim was a first-time candidate who ran an excellent, grassroots, non-partisan campaign. As a retired Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy Chief, Jim brought decades of public safety experience and expertise, and strong knowledge of government operations. He is hardworking, smart and one of the nicest people I know (and runs an incredibly fast 5K). I look forward to supporting him in whatever he does next.

Thank you again for the honor of serving Livonia for another 4 years.

Scott Bahr
100% at peace with tonight's results, and thankful for God's faithfulness through this long campaign. Thank you, Livonia voters, for your confidence. I am honored to serve you.

(These after election comments to a large extent are taken from public postings available
on the candidate's social media pages. It is always appreciated when candidates,
win or lose, take  the time to express gratitude.)
How about some thoughts on a multitude of Livonia events.
Well maybe mostly the Livonia election.
Jim and Annette McConnell: Hi Kate, Louise, Dennis, Josh,  Bill, Nancy, Dave, Lynn, Pat. and a cast of hundreds. What an amazing victory for Maureen and we came close on the two council candidates.

Your leadership has very positively impacted Livonia and should inspire many of us to work even harder in 2020
My thanks for your commitment!

Rob Donovic, Councilman-elect: Thank you for everything though-out the campaign. Thanks Bill.

Dennis Nazelli: On January 1, 2020, Maureen Miller Brosnan will become the first female Mayor of Livonia.

To everyone whose path I crossed on this historic election for Livonia Mayor, and, on behalf of Mayor-elect Brosnan, I would like to thank you for your contribution, your time, your vote.

This triumph will remain the most stunning political victory in the history of Livonia government.

More than 26,000 ballots were cast for mayor.  Maureen (won) thinnest of margins, 164 votes!

From now on, when it comes to voting in future elections, you must remember that every vote counts; your vote counts.  As a candidate supporter and field worker, I will always maintain that no matter how small an effort that I make, it will be added to every small effort.  Every lawn sign I stake into the ground; every piece of campaign literature I deliver; every door I knock; every stranger I talk to, will add up to 164 votes!

I will take the remaining days of this week to recover and relax.  In January 2020, we face the biggest and most important election of our lifetime.  We will take back our government; we will restore our foreign relations; we will assume our country's  role of reversing climate change; we will eliminate tribalism; we will provide a health-care system that protects every American; we will narrow the wealth gap.

The Rev. Dr. David P. Stechholz., D.D.Thank you for your fine reporting of the Election results.  Marueen Brosnan will make a fine Mayor, and the City Council has great, dedicated people who are or will be serving.  Livonia will finally get on with addressing our need for more police and fire fighters and what has to be done to make that happen.  I think Maureen will get that done.

Ginger Choike-O'Connell: Congrats and glad Livonia has finally got a female Mayor!!!! Maureen will be great

Diane Webb, Wayne County Commissioner: What's on My Mind?  Total appreciation for all people that run for office because they truly CARE about OTHERS, and want to SERVE THEM. We need more people in office that run for the right reasons; what they can do for others through their position, rather than what the position can do for them. So I am sending out my thanks to everyone that sacrificed their time, money and energy to run to make a positive difference in their community, whether you won or not, you are to be commended! THANK YOU!
Fleece and thank you. Let's make this a community project.
Our Livonia Stevenson Honor Society really wants this to be a community event.
Any representation from our newly elected officials would be tremendous!
