November 15, 2021 People/Dining/Shopping/Events/Culture All defining Livonia
This Thanksgiving you can be a part of the Livonia BeKind initiative!

While you are out doing your holiday shopping pick up a $5 gift card, or two or maybe even three, to your favorite Livonia business and donate it to the Be Kind Livonia project!

This project has been uniting Livonia all year with families picking up a BeKind yard sign, taking pictures at banners outside of our Library, City Hall, or School Board offices.

The #BeKindLivonia campaign was borne of the success of The Blessing Bag Project, founded by Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church in 2017. Over the last several years, RGPC collaborated with the City of Livonia and the Livonia Police and Fire Departments to deliver blessing bags to thank and show appreciation to community groups, That meant delivering pizza and gifts for the caring staff at St. Mary Mercy Hospital working on Christmas Eve in 2018 and gift bags for hundreds of Livonia’s disabled veterans in 2019.

Each and every school in both Livonia and Clarenceville districts will be served breakfast and staff will be given gift cards this December, as a way to show appreciation for the challenges they've faced during the pandemic. If you would like to make a donation to support this year’s Blessing Bag effort one way is to please visit Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church's website. Under the Giving type, choose Blessing Bag Donations LPS/Clarenceville.

After you pick up your gift cards you can drop them off at the City Clerk's Office at City Hall or deposit them in the red mailbox outside City Hall. Please be sure to put them in a sealed envelope and write Be Kind on the outside. Thank you for helping us say THANK YOU to our Livonia and Clarenceville teachers and support staff.

Or if you would like to make a donation to Be Kind to help them wind up the year with this successful, unifying, appreciative project please visit BeKindLivonia.org.

Livonia may be divided into the city, state and national elections let's show how united we are when it comes to embracing BeKind. BeKind putting smiles on the faces of hospital workers, first responders, and veterans this year on the faces of our teachers and staff.
