A story to warm your heart!
This past Thanksgiving the Livonia Kiwanis Early Risers, Livonia City Hall, Archies Restaurant, So Delish Bakery, CrossFit North Industry, AlphaUSA, and Livonia community members came together to donate 150 hot meals and fresh pumpkin pies to our seniors living at the McNamara Towers.

McNamara Towers is a
retirement community of 136 one-bedroom apartments which serve Livonia's low- and moderate-income senior citizens. McNamara Towers is ideally located near the Livonia Marketplace shopping center and the Carl Sandburg Public Library.
The residents of McNamara Towers can participate in Livonia's transportation program which travels to local area banks, shopping centers, the senior citizens center and health care facilities. Residents enjoy many social and recreational activities.
This Christmas, they are in need of supplies such as toilet paper, paper towel, canned goods, hats, and scarfs. I would love to be a contact if anyone is willing to donate. If you can help contact Manuela Bella Paglia. Her cell # is 734-855-9488

Livonia has a heavy heart as we learn about the passing of Barber Al aka "Julius" or "the big guy".
Julius Barbershop, cutting hair in Livonia since 1945 (opening day pictured above), was his dream come true and he loved every single one of all who came into the shop calling each a friend. He prayed for all of you.
Barber Margarita and the Alvarado family offer a "Thank you for being such a big part of his life and ours. It broke his heart not to be able to be there at the shop laughing it up with all of you."
Cary Quatro said that "Al was the most genuine person I have ever met. Not only did he make sure I had the sweetest hair through high school, he was the DJ at my wedding. His personality was larger than life."
Jeff Dombrowski added that " This is shocking news to hear and it breaks my heart. My dad and I have been coming to the shop for as long as I can remember. I have many memories of Al and the barbershop. He was a selfless, kind, and genuine man. Truly one of a kind.
It is said that earth's great treasures lies in human personality. For years this genuine man who loved life made our hometown unique with his personality that was bigger than life.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR
“A CHRISTMAS WISH” Concert
December 13
“A Christmas Wish” is the Virtual Christmas Choral Mini-Concert of the Livonia Civic Chorus for 2020. It is scheduled for release on Sunday, December 13, at 3 p.m. via a Facebook Event (like us on our page: Facebook.com/LivoniaCivicChorus and you will receive the Event notice or just “tune in” on the 13th).
In order to support our Mission to nurture the vocal talents of our members while providing choral performances, we found ourselves looking for ways to re-invent how we rehearse and perform in order to uphold our Mission. As we did with “Music, You Are a Friend to Me” released last week, and still available for your listening and viewing pleasure, we have created six more virtual musical selections with our usual Christmas concert plan of combining secular and sacred music.
Even the concert Intermission provides a little information to answer the question: “How did they do that?” And, there is flexibility in the virtual world to watch either the whole concert or an individual musical selection time and again. Our virtual performances will continue to be available on the Livonia Civic Chorus YouTube Channel accessible from your Smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. The links will also be available on our website: livoniacivicchorus.org on the Choral Events page.
After several months of preparation by our Board, Music Team, Members, and our Tech Team, we hope you enjoy “A Christmas Wish”. Mark your calendar and we hope the Livonia Civic Chorus will enhance your Holidays with MUSIC!
