Hardies Family Trust Supports the Clarenceville Wrestling Program
The Hardies Family Trust in continuing the legacy of Bob Hardies stepped up in support of the Clarenceville High School wrestling program.

On Thursday the team held their first match of the school year giving them the opportunity to showcase the new wrestling mats replacing the worn-out 20-year old mats.
The two mats provide for simultaneous meets and practice of both the High School and Middle School teams as well as allowing for the hosting of regional and state tournaments.

The total contribution of the Hardies Family Trust to Clarenceville was $18,000. The total amount donated by the HFT during the 2021 calendar year has exceeded $119,000.

Representing the HFT was Carol Broadbeck and Dan MacIver. The wrestling team and coaches posed for a picture and in a team cheer said "Thank you."

There can be no doubt that the legacy of Bob Hardies just keeps on giving and the Livonia community continues to benefit.

AS THEY WORK AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
Thirty-five percent of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence. As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence—an international campaign that aims to inspire action and end violence against women and girls around the world—the Zonta Club of Northwest Wayne County, along with Livonia Biggby® stores, have collaborated together to build awareness of Violence Against Women.

During the 16 Days of Activism, customers who visit either Livonia BIGBBY® location receive a special #awarenessisbrewing drink sleeve. Customers are encouraged to join the campaign by posting a selfie with their sleeve and tag Biggby Coffee Livonia- Plymouth/Middlebelt or Biggby Coffee Livonia- Newburgh/Ann Arbor Road and Northwest Wayne County Zonta Club to show their support and raise awareness of this very critical worldwide issue.


Zonta clubs around the world have organized activities and events as part of the 2021 Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign, which focuses on the service and advocacy actions of Zonta clubs and districts to prevent and end violence against women and girls in their local communities. 
"As the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic, instances of gender-based violence are on the rise. Now, more than ever, it is essential that we work together to end violence against women and girls,” said Zonta International President Sharon Langenbeck.
Northwest Wayne County Zonta club is a group of dedicated women who come together to work to raise awareness and advocate for a better future for all women and girls. The efforts of this club, helps advance the status of women through service and advocacy. They meet monthly to plan service and advocacy projects that will help make a difference in the community while also raising funds for scholarships and community grants.

Rosedale Food Drive this Saturday
Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church Deacons' Christmas Food Drive have one remaining date for food drop-off and a list of food items that are needed for their Christmas food drive.

Food Drop Off Date and Time:
This Saturday, December 11th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Food Items Needed:
Cereal
peanut butter and jelly
pasta and spaghetti sauce
soup
baked beans
mac and cheese
dried potato mix, dried rice mix
canned vegetables
canned tuna and chicken
brownie and cake mix
Jello, and pancake or waffle mix

When possible we would like contributed items in
plastic jars instead of glass so they can also be used
in their Community Cupboard.

Clarenceville returns to a better normal
during this holiday season
The Clarenceville School District school community was put into the holiday spirit as they attended the Winter Concert performed by the combined 4th & 5th-grade Choir of Botsford & Grandview Elementary on December 8. It was the first time their elementary students were back on stage in 2 years!

The 12 song program was uplifting at just the right time!
