The Red Wing Alumni v Livonia All Stars was my favorite project to be a part of.

You gotta Love Livonia. So much to do. So much to be proud of. So much to celebrate. Can't wait to ring in the new year to start that celebration for another year. If we pay taxes in a city we need to be engaged to keep it current and progressive. A change agent.

Beverly Hertenstein nailed this adage. In 2022 these are some trees this typewriter hopes can be planted in Livonia, to continue defining our hometown as the change agent continually setting the standard of excellence for western Wayne County. Laura Toy: Several years back when you were a representative in Lansing you hosted a meeting of every Livonia education institution ranging from public schools K-12 to colleges. You brought in a facilitator from Lansing if memory serves me correctly with plans that this first meeting of educational institution would have a series of meetings to see how and if there could be a coordinated effort to show cooperation, inter-connectedness, communication. That group only met once. Let's bring everyone together again. It was a good idea then and is a better idea now. Livonia City Council: 60 communities in Michigan have passed a Non-discrimination ordinance similar to the one endorsed by a cross-section of Livonia leading businesses and educational leaders.  Council President Jim Jolly should move this proposal forward, open the door to discussion, and then the passage of this progressive proposal that helps define Livonia as a welcoming community to live, work and play. That idea once proposed in 2021 needs to find its acceptance in 2022. Maureen Miller Brosnan: You have done an outstanding job of engaging citizens from service on boards and commissions to hosting a breakfast of volunteers serving Livonia. This culture of engagement can be expanded by hosting an annual Get to Know Livonia reception for new residents where they can be introduced to the culture and history. New residents can meet neighbors, make new friends, and feel more a part of the community that greets them with open arms, challenging them to integrate with service clubs, neighborhood associations, and cultural organizations. Brandon McCullough: You have brought Livonia a new community event with the Red Wing Alumni v Livonia All-Stars. A refreshing project emphasizing the athletic component that helps define Livonia and the giving/social safety net component underscoring Livonia Kids & Families. This project was great, pure, and simple. It needs to be worked into the fabric of our hometown as an annual event.

Off to Colorado This typewriter is off to Aurora Colorado next week to spend some time with Paul and Raquel and of course Leonardo and Maya. This issue of FridayMusings will be the last for the year, returning to your inbox on January 3rd. A little mental health and rehabilitation time off. No computer. No cell phone. No TV. No newspapers. Me and the bodyguard. A couple of good books. Maybe a couple of good movies, Spiderman today for sure. Packages have been sent to Leo and Maya. Stockings are stuffed for Paul and Raquel. Pizzelles are made. The bodyguard is exhausted with all the baking. Regardless of the faith you hold and practice it should be a holiday that brings us all together prepared for a new year in which we move as one to identify the issues in our hometown and to engage in offering solutions. LIVONIA LIONS CLUB PURCHASES and WRAPS GIFTS FOR COOKE SCHOOL Members of the Livonia Lions recently gathered at a member's home to wrap Christmas Gifts to be given to students attending Cooke School in Northville, MI. The Lions received a wish list of items and were able to purchase and wrap them in time for the Virtual Cooke School Christmas Party. Go Lions! Gotta Love this Team at Buchanan Elementary School So much fun was had at the Sandburg Library Holiday Party!
