One Councilman speaks out about the condition of the roads putting it in historic perspective:
Brandon McCullough "was out grabbing some coffee and noticed that a lot of roads in the city are still snow-covered. The easy answer is that these roads are maintained by Wayne county, however, this does not correct the issue that our residents have to endure each snow event.
"At the last council meeting, this matter was a topic of conversation, and a recommendation to have a member of the Wayne County road commission attend our next meeting was given to city administration.
"It’s easy to get upset and point the finger but this same issue has been happening since I took Kacie McCullough to homecoming in 2000! What we need now is a permanent solution and or process going forward and I intend to work with my council colleagues and Wayne county to gain one!
"For the present, below you will find the current process:
"If you notice any Wayne County roads that have not been cleared or are in need of salt following a weather event, please call Wayne County DPS at 1-888-ROAD-CREW (1-888-762-3273).
"Here is a map as a reminder for which roads are county roads within the city of Livonia."
