What a weekend!! We ended qualification matches as the 1st alliance captain, picked 2 great teams, FRC 2337 & FRC 6057, to compete with, and WON our home event!!
Our robot, Turbulence, was consistent, our programming squad fixed some issues after day 1, our mechanical squad replaced a swerve drive right before the playoffs, our scouting squad knew which teams would help us win, our spirit squad kept us pumped up, and all the parents and volunteers kept everyone fed. Our Chairman’s squad looked amazing and did a great job presenting to the judges, and they WON!!
Shoutout to our freshman team, The Tyros Team, who made it to the playoffs with their robot, The Flying Dutchman, and won the Creativity Award.
We are so thankful for everyone that made this competition happen. We are looking forward to competing again at Macomb in 2 weeks.

LDC collects 3,528 pairs of shoes and benefits are already coming back to hometown Livonia |
The Shoe Committee of the Livonia Democratic Party presented a check for $500.00 to LEARN (Livonia Equity Anti-Racism Network) for its charitable work in the community.
The Livonia Democratic Club collected over 3,528 pairs of gently worn shoes to donate to Funds2Orgs, an organization that distributes these shoes to countries in the Caribbean and Africa.
The LDC Shoe Committee was headed by Carl Kedzierski, Mitsy Morris and Lynn O'Neil.
Mitsy Morris and Lynn O'Neil presented the $500.00 check to Delisha Upshaw of LEARN at the March 17th Livonia Democratic Club membership meeting.

Tom Leonard for Attorney General
Calling incumbent Attorney General Dana Nessel an elitist with a radical political agenda Livonia City Councilman Rob Donovic has endorsed Tom Leonard for Michigan Attorney General.
The Michigan GOP is to nominate its candidates for attorney general, secretary of state, and the Supreme Court at an April 23 convention.

Laurie Pohutsky on Protecting Your
Right to Vote
This week, I joined several of my colleagues to introduce a package of bills that would protect your right to vote and increase access to the ballot box.
My bill in the package would allow for nine days of early in-person voting. The right to vote is only a guarantee as long as people can access it.
Voters want and deserve more options to exercise that right. The more participation we have in our elections, the more representative elected officials will be of the population they serve, and that’s good for everyone.

Cheryl Ann Crespo ~ Churchill 2013
After graduating from Churchill in 2013, Sheryl Ann Crespo moved to New York City to attend Columbia University, which launched the start of a fantastic career — from the gaming industry to building technology teams.
“While I entered as a biomedical engineering major — a choice inspired by my biology teacher through the MSC program, Mr. Meloche — I eventually switched to study computer science and evolutionary biology.
I founded Columbia’s Game Design and Development organization — a passion project that eventually drove a career move into the gaming industry.
My journey into computer science began with taking a research fellowship at Columbia’s History Lab, conducting machine learning research (natural language processing) on government documents. When I graduated in 2017, I did similar work in the pharmaceutical space, but left after the company was acquired to work as a first hire in a gaming intelligence startup.
Given my involvement in the gaming industry, I fell into semi-professional cosplay, promoting for companies including Blizzard and Team 17 at various events and conferences. After building up and managing the engineering team, we were acquired by Nielsen, where I led software engineering efforts for Nielsen’s sports vertical. Since then, I have taken a position as Director, building a tech team from the ground up at a post-investor logistics company; aiding a 50-year-old family-run freight forwarder undergo its digital transformation.”
