Community Financial Credit Union marks its 71st anniversary in May and we are proud to again celebrate the ninth annual “Thumbs Up for Charity!” program. This annual giving campaign provides local residents the opportunity to give a “thumbs up” to their favorite charitable organizations and award five organizations with varying donation amounts totaling $25,000.
The following organizations were named finalists when nominations closed on March 26:
- Amber Reineck House in Livingston County, providing resources for substance abuse
- Bluestone VOICES for Autism in Livonia, treating children with Autism
- Growth Works in Plymouth, providing resources for substance abuse and juvenile delinquency
- Northville Community Foundation/Maybury Farm in Northville enhancing community life
- Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Gaylord providing small home repair services for seniors, homebound, and the disabled
“We believe it’s important to give the residents of our communities a chance to tell us which groups they think deserve recognition,” says Manager/Community Relations, Natalie McLaughlin, “and “Thumbs Up for Charity!” gives them that opportunity. It’s always amazing to learn about all of these organizations and the great work they do in our community.”
The organization with the most votes will receive a $10,000 donation, second and third place recipients will receive $5,000 each, and $2,500 will go to the fourth and fifth place recipients.
With this year’s donation, Community Financial Credit Union will reach $225,000 in giving with this program.
