You can purchase in advance and save!! The pre-Sale Voucher price is $18.00.

Your vouchers are only valid Tuesday - Saturday. Remember that if you purchased tickets for the 2020 Spree but could not be used due to Covid they will be honored for the 2022 Spree.

Blessings in a BackPack
This past week saw the Livonia Democratic Party deliver a $500 check, proceeds from their Shoe Drive last Summer and Fall, to the fine folks at Blessings in a Backpack.

This is the third organization to receive funding from the shoe collection, bringing the total to $1,500.

GIVE BACK, GIVE MAC 

The Livonia Democrats are partnering with the Livonia chapter of Blessings in a Backpack and Livonia Kids & Families to help these great organizations provide food for Livonia school kids in need.

How can you help? Donate some Mac & Cheese-it really is that easy!

Our goal is to collect 1,500 boxes (or one month’s worth of Mac & Cheese) of either Kraft Macaroni & Cheese or Meijer brand Macaroni & Cheese. For standardization purposes of each food distribution, we would greatly appreciate it if you stick to either one of these two brands of Mac & Cheese as shown above.

Pick up some extra Mac & Cheese the next time you buy groceries and then deliver your donation to the Livonia Senior Center - you’ll find the LDC collection box inside the lobby.

The LDC will be collecting Mac & Cheese now thru the end of May.

Our Livonia Costco has Kraft Mac & Cheese on special this month-18 boxes for $14.69.

Livonia has three state representative districts. One is represented by Laurie Pohutsky, one is represented by Mark Koleszar, the third district has no incumbent. Ismail Terry is running in that district which includes southeast Livonia, part of Redford and a part of Detroit.

State Representative Matt Koleszar has been endorsed by the Sierra Club. "Holding corporate polluters accountable and protecting our environment has always been a top priority for me. Just recently, we worked with the Attorney General to hold Arbor Hills Landfill accountable and improve the quality of life for thousands of Northville and Plymouth Township residents.

"While there is still plenty of work to do, it is humbling to receive acknowledgement of my commitment to protecting our environment through this endorsement."
Happy Earth Day. Livonia Greenleaf and Sustainability Commission hosted an Earth Day Event this past Saturday
Saturday for some was Earth Day. For some, it was just another day to celebrate the sun and warm temperatures. To the members of the Livonia Greenleaf Commission on Sustainability, it became a day to host a Sustainability Fair at the Madonna Welcome Center.
Kathy Ventittelli enjoyed the Fair and complimented Alan from Friends of the Rouge saying he "was great! Showed me what my "river address" is on his geological map. Good event; hope it is bigger next year."

City Councilman Brandon McCullough had a "great time learning all things sustainability. It was a well-attended event and a lot of great information to be had. Well done Greenleaf Commission on Sustainability - Livonia, Michigan and thank you for helping Livonia lower our carbon footprint!"
Rain barrels were on display to ask questions or to purchase one. Ecotelligent homes were on-site to discuss energy-saving plans for your home. The typewriter and bodyguard used this company for an audit, a plan, and implementation including insulation. Our heating bills dropped dramatically.


DTE was on site to talk about energy audits and ways to save money.

Spent some talking with Sam Caramagno, Director of Municipal Affairs and Operational Improvements at GFL Environmental. His son is graduating from the University of Michigan next week and he will be the 4th generation Caramagno to work in the industry.

It was just a relaxing morning with experts, and consumers, each imparting questions or answers. Oh and yes. Cookies were provided. Made this typewriter smile.
