This year’s grants were presented to each of the awardees in private presentations at the Foundation Offices at 33300 Five Mile Road.
The Livonia Community Foundation has a MISSION to:
➢ promote and develop community resources, properties and civic
treasures
➢ promote, support and develop public interest in the arts and other
local cultural undertakings
➢ promote programs that contribute to the welfare of the community
and the needs of its citizens
These grants to not-for-profit organizations serving the needs of the
residents of the city of Livonia totaled $45,000 and are possible because of
the generous donations to the LCF endowment fund. Since the first grants
made in 1996 the LCF has provided a total of $577,635 in grants.
The organizations approved for grants this year are:
▪ Angela Hospice – Camp Monarch to assist and support grieving children
▪ Blessings in a Backpack –Program Expansion
▪ Greenmead Restoration Trust – wrought iron fence and signage at Union/Briggs Cemetery
▪ Livonia Arts Commission – Children’s Art from the Heart program
▪ Livonia Civic Chorus – Senior Outreach and Musical Interlude Programming
▪ Livonia Community Theatre – Summer Musical Theatre Workshop for grades 6-9
▪ Livonia Kids and Families –Food Pantries Healthy Food Initiative & Expansion to
Clarenceville Schools
▪ Livonia Library Commission – One Book Program outdoor storytelling & meet the Author events.
