"It is time to die."
Those were the last words some of the students in Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas heard before their young life was taken.
"It is time to die."
For years, candidates have argued that the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. The mass murder of 19 students and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas, has again proven that the dominant paradigm, read that the Republican plan, will never work.
"It is time to die."
We owe it to the children of our country to insure that it is safe to go to school. Candidates need to stand up for common-sense gun laws. We have to fight back in this cultural war that the wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Rifle Association, the Republican Party, is waging on America.
"It is time to die."
State Representative Laurie Pohutsky accepts her designation of Moms Demand Action as a gun sense candidate. Thank you Representative Pohutsky. State Senator Dayna Polehanki has taken the argument for common-sense gun laws across the country with her appearances on national television. Thank for Senator Polehanki.
"It is time to die."
The way to fix everything is to campaign for people who promise to take action against guns, and against the re-election of House and Senate members in Congressional elections, and state legislature positions who won’t.
In short, the answer is let's make democracy work better, not give up, or issue only prayers for those students who were needlessly killed. Vote. Vote with a conviction for common-sense gun laws. This typewriter will and encourages you to as well.
