The Greening of Livonia takes a step forward
Solarize Livonia – Neighborhood Meeting Tuesday – June 21, 2022
Solar energy is sustainable, renewable, and plentiful. The cost of using solar to produce electricity is decreasing each year. Solar has ranked first or second in new electric capacity additions in each of the last nine years. In 2021, 46% of all new electric capacity added to the grid came from solar energy!
If you have considered going solar, the Greenleaf Commission on Sustainability will be hosting a “Solarize Livonia – Neighborhood Meeting” on Tuesday, June 21st at 7:00 pm. James M. Baringhaus, Chairperson - Greenleaf Commission on Sustainability | City of Livonia explains that "This event will allow Livonia residents to learn about solar energy systems and the neighborhood group purchase program. Solarize campaigns are designed to leverage group-purchasing power so that customers can purchase solar systems in bulk for less cost than the typical market rate by creating a steady stream of purchases and installations."
Solar energy is a great way to offset energy costs, reduce your home's environmental impact, and provide a host of other benefits, such as supporting local businesses and contributing to energy independence.
Learn about residential solar energy systems that will reduce your energy costs and make your home environmentally! To register for this Solarize meeting, please sign up here: Livonia Solarize Meeting Registration

Run 2 Save Our Youth another success
|
This typewriter appreciates all who showed up Saturday for the Run 2 Save Our Youth. Unfortunately, had to rely on secondary sources as I spent the last week in bed with one visit to urgent care after falling, with who knows what. Had greatly anticipated attending. But next year for sure.
Thank you Livonia Pom team members. So cool you participated in the run/walk.
Run 2 Save Our Youth 2022 …Mayor Maureen Brosnan describes the annual walk/run as "the best runners, walkers, and clowns in town gathered to support substance abuse prevention this morning. It was a great way to start the day."

Seedlings Spotlight!
Adelaide, Vivie, Emmebelle (pictured) & Josephine are all Seedlings’ “kids!”
Read this nice quote from Adelaide, Vivie, Emmebelle (pictured) & Josephine are all Seedlings’ “kids!”
“Two of my daughters, 3 and 12, who are blind as well as my twin 8-year-old daughters, who have autism and Down syndrome, love your books. In particular, “The SENSEsational alphabet” is a huge favorite in our home. My girls will spend hours listening to the letter sounds and feeling the braille and textured pictures in this book. We have almost gone through two of them with much love! Thank you for offering great products that my daughters can love and learn with.”
Image description: Three girls are pictured in red, white, and blue outfits. From left to right: Adelaide making a silly face, Vivie waving and Emmebelle smiling.
