A special SuperBowl Tailgate for McNamara Towers Residents

10 volunteers, 9 in the picture and one, Dan MacIver, taking the picture, took part in delivering sliders (3 to each apartment-vegetarian, hamburger, and turkey), homemade chips, water or Pepsi, and a box of Girl Scout cookies to every resident at McNamara Towers, a retirement community of 136 one-bedroom apartments in Northeast Livonia. The tailgate boxes were prepared by Leiby Dardas-Kluck of Celebrity Catering.

Two of Livonia's State Representatives were on hand. Laurie Pohutsky and Stephanie Young. Residents opening doors, as the boxes were delivered room to room, or coming to the lobby expressed their appreciation for the thoughtfulness. Appreciation to Dan MacIver for providing the Pepsi and water and to Chuck Dardas for providing the idea and tailgate boxes.

Livonia Women's Connection inspires networking for women

City Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski shares her thoughts on the continued growth and networking opportunities of the Livonia Women's Connection writing that "One of my greatest accomplishments will be the Livonia Women's Connection. I'm blown away and inspired every time.

"So grateful to Laura for inviting me to join this project. Grateful to Heather for helping me organize them this year. Can't wait to do it again at Greenmead on Sunday, June 30th!"

The Livonia Women's Connection is another example of the concept we should all consider. When You Think Livonia, Expect Something Special

Clarenceville Marching Band Preparing for Guitar Raffle

Warwick Star Bass II SCK Bass Speaker Cabinet including

heavy-duty Warwick Flight Case. One of the best.

The Clarenceville Marching Band is readying an announcement that their Guitar Raffle is being held to raise money for new Band Uniforms. The details have been worked out and the drawing date for the winning ticket will be May 15th at 6:30 at their annual Spring Concert.

The license has been obtained from the State of Michigan, a special video is being prepared to showcase this one-of-a-kind guitar, tickets are being printed.

There is even a line starting to form to purchase the first tickets when they become available, that is how impressive this guitar is.

As all of the details become available you will find one source for helping the Marching Band at Clarenceville get the word out. It will be right here in FridayMusings. And I am betting all over social media, in music stores, from band members.

The Marching Band is getting a final design for the uniforms ready and a sample produced. So get ready for the raffle details, the rollout of the video, and the showcasing of what the new uniforms will look like.

After checking out this one-of-a-kind guitar that is as close to a work of art as I have seen on a musical instrument I only wish that I had the skill set to play it. Save a ticket for me as I just might take up guitar lessons.

I tried once. Tom Portney, Franklin High School 1967, formed a musical comedy duo, called We Too or was it We Two, I can't remember which, with plans to tour ala the Smothers Brothers. After attending our first, and only guitar lesson, we moved on to other outlets for our creative energy.

The Hardies Family Trust donated $5,000 in matching funds for the first $5,000 raised.
