A Commitment for 2025:
#1 Resolution for Musings
Community associations, encompassing diverse service clubs, cultural groups, and various organizations, serve as the backbone of vibrant and cohesive hometowns. Their significance lies not only in fostering community engagement but also in enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.
Much of the dialogue in Livonia has recently focused on a crucial Council appointment and the upcoming city elections slated for August and November. While these discussions are undeniably important, they may inadvertently overshadow an equally vital element in our community's growth—supporting and promoting our vibrant volunteer sector.
Organizations such as Breaking Barriers Kids and Families, DO It for Denny, Lions, Rotary, Jaycees, Kiwanis, our school PTSA's, along with the Clarenceville and Livonia Education Foundation, and so many others too numerous to list. Still, hopefully you get the idea, are instrumental in building a strong community, enhancing property values, and ultimately enriching the quality of life in Livonia. We hope that our elected and appointed officials will acknowledge and champion these organizations, recognizing their profound impact on the fabric of our hometown.

Today we are partnering to share two organizations that are making a difference and in which I am asking for your support: Livonia Historical Society and Livonia Rotary AM Club.
At Musings, our commitment to the community transcends mere updates on the upcoming election; it is rooted in a profound dedication to fostering the volunteer sector that has been the backbone of Livonia efforts for the past 75 years and supported by Musings since we started 21 years ago.
We recognize that the true catalysts for change are passionate individuals who selflessly dedicate their time and energy to serve others. By continuing to support and empower these volunteers, we honor their invaluable contributions and inspire a collective movement toward positive transformation. Together, we will not only stay informed about the election but also galvanize our community around the vital work being done to uplift and enhance the lives of those we serve.

Happy 5th Birthday Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe!
Join in this Tuesday, January 14th, as Livonia celebrates a remarkable five years of creativity and community at Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop and Cafe, one block north of the northwest corner of Seven Mile and Merriman.
The delightful ambiance of this quaint coffee shop will be enriched by the presence of FridayMusings, the typewriter, and the dedicated bodyguard, as we indulge in a complimentary piece of birthday cake—an offer that promises to sweeten the day while supplies last.
To ensure we don’t miss out on this delicious treat, we’ll be arriving promptly at 10:00 AM, ready to savor not only the cake but also a refreshing glass of iced tea, as never a cup of coffee has crossed my lips, while others prefer to take part in coffee.
Let’s come together to honor this milestone and create joyful memories in this beloved cafe!

Two organizations making a difference in our Livonia 75 Amazing Journey: understanding our past while preparing for the next 25 years
Jim and Ann McConnell announce that the Livonia Historical Society "is excited to offer Livonia-themed programs during the 2025 season celebrating Livonia 75!"
All of the meetings are open to the public and are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at Greenmead's Alexander Blue House.
One major impact he Livonia Historical Society has is raising over $10,000 each year to take approximately 800 elementary students from the Clarenceville and Livonia Public Schools to Greenmead in the Spring for a day turning back the clock.

Greg Greene, a Past President of The Livonia AM Rotary Club invites you to join in on what is being described as a great movement!
LAMR-VC (the Livonia AM Rotary Volunteer Corp.) will include active volunteers who can participate in the social service club’s worthwhile events, as non-Rotary club members, while contributing to their success in benefiting the community.
This Rotary Volunteer Corp is free to become a volunteer helping our hometown.
To join them, just contact a Rotary Club of Livonia AM member for more details, and they will let you know when their various events and projects are scheduled.
For more information or to sign up you can also contact Mike Ladwig at this email, ladwig.mike@yahoo.com, or call/text him at 734.788.4374.
You, too, can play a big part in the journey and help with events and activities sponsored by the Rotary AM Club like the Annual Touch-a-Truck with nearly 10,000 residents attending, the Livonia All Stars vs Detroit Red Wings Alumni, Charity Hockey Game, or Salvation Army Bell Ringing. Just a few of the service projects sponsored or assisted by the Rotary AM Club.

The Livonia Historical Society is reaching out to you, inviting you to join a noble cause that not only preserves our rich heritage but also fosters a sense of community pride through various impactful projects.
By becoming a member, you will support remarkable initiatives such as the Bentley Historic Marker Dedication and the invaluable mentoring trips for our young students to Greenmead.
Your membership, whether as an individual for just $20, a couple for $30, or even as a student for a mere $10, is a vital contribution that sustains our Greenmead Historical Park and ensures the success of our upcoming 75th Celebration.
Since its inception in 1956, the LHS has been dedicated to imparting knowledge about our local history, and your involvement will help us continue this mission. Together, we can ensure that Livonia’s past is cherished and its future is bright.
Please consider this heartfelt request; your support means the world to us, and it enables the Historical Society to flourish and serve our beloved community in countless ways.
