"Merry & Bright," Livonia's festive Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting event, is set for Sunday, Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. The parade will showcase an array of floats, high school bands, honor guards, entertainers, cheer teams, and scout troops, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The procession will start at Frost Middle School and cover approximately a mile—from Stark to Lyndon, then Farmington Road, and finally Civic Center Drive—culminating in front of Livonia City Hall. Mayor Maureen Miller Brosnan, accompanied by Santa and Mrs. Claus, will light up the holiday display by pressing a ceremonial button on the City Hall steps.
The Livonia Community Chorus is scheduled to perform.
Expect the parade to span roughly an hour. Parking is available across various city locations, including Ford Field, Stymelski Park, and the Senior Center. Subsequently, the Robert and Janet Bennett Civic Center Library will offer hot cocoa and cookies, various entertainments, crafts, and an opportunity for children to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.
