Over the Christmas period I lost two brothers through sudden deaths, one in Florida and one in Ireland.
My brother Billy had just turned 90 and lived with his wife Nancy in Eustis, north of Orlando, when he was seriously injured in a fall at home two days before Christmas. He never recovered from his injuries and died on Christmas Eve, December 24.
My brother Tony was 84 and lived in Manchester, England, but he and his wife Kathy were spending Christmas in Ireland in a home they owned in Rosemount where we all grew up in Co. Westmeath. A few days after Christmas on December 30, Tony had a heart attack and died.
A Month's Mind Memorial Mass for Billy and Tony will be celebrated by Fr. John Madigan at 7:30 pm on Thursday evening, January 27, at Bellevue's Sacred Heart Church, 9460 NE 14th St, Clyde Hill. For those who would like to attend, please do plan to wear face masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines. The Mass will also be livestreamed on the Sacred Heart Parish website.
Please keep Nancy and Kathy and their families and all the Keanes in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
