At LifeSciences BC, we have been engaging in and representing the BC Life Sciences sector in many global virtual conferences.  ( A silver lining of the virtual world that we are currently living in). It has been amazing to see how, leveraging virtual tools, inter-connectivity and collaborations have continued and, in some cases, grown. While attending the conferences, we have had the opportunity to represent and promote the BC Life Sciences sector, while learning about the innovation and scientific advancements that are being pursued.  

 

This week, LifeSciences BC attended the One Nucleus (the Cambridge-London Life Sciences Association) ON Helix Conference that was streamed live from the United Kingdom. The conference theme ‘ Transforming New Medicine Discovery’ , focused on understanding the impact of new science and the challenges faced in translating them in new healthcare products. We met and connected with a wide-range of delegates including representatives from Alderely Park (the UK’s largest single site life science campus), Celerion and other companies that were keen to find out more about the sector in British Columbia. We are really pleased to see the interest in our community overseas and will be working on ways in which we can maximize opportunities from these networks, to our membership.

The BC COVID-19 Strategic Research Advisory Committee (SRAC) published BC’s COVID-19 Strategic Research Framework Issue 1 on April 30, 2020. SRAC is currently working on Issue 2, and seeking input. Participation is available via online form  or email below.
