January BioME Virtual Coffee Hour

Join us for our first BioME Virtual Coffee Hour in 2021on January 14 from 10-11am.

January’s Coffee Hour will feature a short tour of New England Ocean Cluster’s co-working space with Patrick and Janeen Arnold; Maine entrepreneur Paul J. Fitzpatrick, and University of Maine Biomedical Engineering faculty, Dr. Karissa Tilbury, Dr. Andre Khalil and Kendra Batchelder. Each mini-presentation will be followed by Q&A and the audience will have a chance to connect with the speakers and each other.

ME Bioscience Day 2020

Throughout the week of November 16, 2020, BioME organized a 5th annual ME Bioscience Day, virtually. ME Bioscience Day is a statewide event that aims to get students excited about life science – the study of all living organisms, as well as raising awareness of the career opportunities in the life sciences sector in Maine.

Welcome New Board Member:

Bethany Fortier

We would like to officially welcome our newest Student Board Member, Bethany Fortier. Bethany is a graduate student in a research-intensive M.S. program formed as a new collaboration between Maine Medical Center Research Institute (MMCRI) and the University of Southern Maine. Bethany is completing her thesis work under the mentorship of Dr. Lucy Liaw in the Center for Molecular Medicine at MMCRI. She earned her B.S. in Biology, as well as her teaching certification, from the University of Maine.
