Director's Message

Greetings ,

Life is filled with challenges - twists and turns that we more often navigate than control. The March BioTherapy Live! webinar had to be postponed, but it will still air, live: next Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 1:pm PDT. Below, you can read more about this special event in our series: Maggot Therapy around the Globe.

Like our other webinars in this series, it will be recorded and posted for later viewing. You will be able to view the recording, along with all of our earlier broadcasts, on our Facebook Page or our YouTube channel.

The news concerning the on-site workshop in maggot therapy, planned to take place in Turkey next month, is not so good. That conference had to be cancelled. A new time and venue have not yet been announced.

If interested in biotherapy training outside the U.S.A, or if interested in hosting or co-sponsoring such an event, contact the International Biotherapy Society, (IBS). If interested in attending or hosting a workshop in the U.S., contact the BTER Foundation.

I hope to see some of you next week at our webinar. In the meantime, let us know how we can help you in your pursuit of providing, accessing, or investigating biotherapy.

/Ron Sherman,

Director

Advancing healthcare through education and research in biotherapy,

BioTherapy Live!

The next BioTherapy Live! broadcast will air Tuesday, March 19, 2024 (1:pm PST, 4:pm EST, 8:pm in Portugal), continuing our series of visits with maggot therapists from around the world. This program will feature Daniele Dallavecchia, MS, PhD in Biomedicine, live from Portugal.

Dr. Dallavecchia's lecture will focus on research to overcome a major problem associated with maggot therapy transportation logistics: perishability. She will discuss her work, recently published under the title: Biological behavior of Chrysomya putoria (Wiedemann, 1819) (Diptera: Calliphoridae) after refrigeration: logistics for use in biotherapy. You can read her publication here.

Join the Zoom call, if you can, or watch live during the Facebook broadcast. If you can not join us for the live session, then watch the recording on our Facebook page or our YouTube channel afterwards.
