'Tis the season for biometric screening, HRA and tobacco attestation. All benefits eligible faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in this annual personal heath check up. And those who will be participating in one of the CWRU Benelect programs next year can earn $300 extra in 2019 just by spending a few minutes to complete all three activities by November 30th. Don't delay!

Biometric Screening and a New Program from Omada Health
The Wellness program is rolling out a trial health coaching program for up to 100 CWRU faculty and staff this year.

If your biometric screening results indicate that you are at risk for metabolic syndrome in 3 of 5 areas of concern (Blood Pressure, HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Fasting Glucose or Waist Circumference) you will be invited to join the Omada program.

If you choose to participate, you'll get your own interactive program, wireless scale, professional health coach, peer group, weekly lessons and more.

Building Connection and Communication in the Midst of Stress Class

Learn new ways of managing stress at work and home by focusing on your relationships. In this 8-week class participants will learn how to build healthy connections, practice positive verbal and non-verbal communication, improve stress response and more.

Grow your Healthy Workgroup with the Healthy Department Toolkit!
This fall, we offer the Healthy Department Toolkit. During the semester long program, groups will build a more collaborative and supportive team with healthier habits both on campus and off.


To be eligible for specific programming, like nutrition challenges from Foodstand and small group fitness classes, contact Mary Ann with the the name of your group, the captain's name and the names and emails of the members of the group.
Move More Next Month with the WALKTOBER Fitness Challenge

Join faculty, staff and students for a 31-day fitness program, Walktober!

Starting October 1st participants will use the Walktober website or the app to log steps or minutes of exercise.

Fitness related prizes, including some great passes from One to One Fitness and Next Level Fitness Studio, will be given to at least 25 of the faculty, staff and students who successfully complete the program.

Avoid Evening Traffic By Staying for Yoga Classes on Tuesday Nights

Relax and restore at the end of the work day with Viniyoga. Dawn Miller, from UH's Connor Integrative Health Network, leads this breath-based class.

Level 1, at 5:45 PM, is great for those with physical limitations or who have had little or no experience with yoga.
Level 2 at 4:35 is a good fit for those with no limitations or those who have completed the Level 1 class.
