Passenger Ferry Grant Program, which funds capital projects that support existing passenger ferry service, establish new ferry service, and repair and modernize ferry boats, terminals, and related facilities and equipment in urbanized areas. FAA will award nearly $1 billion in BIL funding to 85 airports across the country to improve terminals, increase energy efficiency, promote competition, and provide greater accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
Carbon Capture Demonstration Pilot Programs, which funds integrated carbon capture, transport, and storage technologies and infrastructure. The Department of Energy expects the application for the $2.54 billion in funding to open in the 4th quarter of 2022.
The Department of the Interior announced a $36.1 million investment, including $26.7 million in BIL funds, to safeguard local water supplies in the wake of record drought across the West. 27 projects in 12 states and the first-ever in Puerto Rico will be awarded funding to advance quantifiable and sustained water savings by protecting watersheds impacted by wildland fire, restoring aquatic habitats and stream beds, and advancing other environmental restoration projects to mitigate drought-related impacts. The funding announced is part of the $160 million in WaterSMART grants provided by the BIL in 2022.
