The growing bipartisan movement for wildlife crossings sweeps the nation


In a new update from the Center for Large Landscape Conservation, states from across the country are enacting laws to facilitate projects that will most effectively reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions and improve habitat connectivity. This movement to address the needs of wildlife, as well as drivers, is a response to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed in November of last year.

This year's Florida panther mortalities reach twenty-two 


Earlier this month, the 22nd Florida panther mortality this year was recorded in Collier County from a vehicle collision. This is the leading cause of death for panthers, in addition to habitat loss. Carlton Ward Jr. says, "Without investment in conservation, most of Florida will probably be a subdivision 50 years from now."

Artist in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE) now accepting applications


Artists in Residence in Everglades in partnership with the Everglades National Park, empowers artists to think creatively and critically about their relationship to the environment with a mission of revealing new paths forward. AIRIE is inviting artists and creators alike to apply for their 2023 Fellowship. Fellows will participate in an inspiring 4-week stay with opportunities to connect, share, research, and incubate ideas for their work. Each Fellow is offered a $4000 research grant, institutional support from AIRIE’s network and partners, and accommodations in the Everglades National Park with additional financial support for travel and food.
