A Few Kind Reminders!

Wear/Bring Tennis Shoes Daily
Please have your child bring or wear tennis shoes each day. We offer the gym as a space choice everyday and follow the same rule as the school day: shoes other than tennis are not allowed.

Weather Appropriate Attire
The children go outside nearly everyday and early morning/late afternoons can be chilly! Please send along appropriate outerwear. As winter and snow approach we will require all the gear - snow pants, boots, hats, mittens / gloves, etc in order to go outside. We encourage you to LABEL your child(ren)s gear - we will have a black sharpie at the sign in / out area :)

Toys From Home
On Fridays, students are able to bring a non violent toy / game from home. Electronics are currently not allowed.

* Please r emind your child(ren) that they are responsible for their own toys, and no trading please!

A Peek into October

How did we get to October so quickly? September just snuck away from us! In October our camps and clubs begin, and there is already excitement building around them! We will continue to offer a Daily Special, an activity that offers multiple components including STEAM, Literacy, Social Studies and Social Emotional Learning. It's great, cause the kiddos usually just think it's fun!
September Highlights

Goodbye September - we really enJed you! We staff have had a lot of fun getting to know the children who are new to the program, and getting caught up with those who have attend in the past. The children are making new friends and getting reacquainted with friends they already knew!

Highlights of the month included learning and practicing the routines and expectations of Extended Day, getting to know all our new staff & kiddos, and spending lots of time outside! On Ms. Stephanie's last day - the kiddos were able to cast their votes for a baby name!

Check out the photos of us in action below!
Ms. Stephanie had her baby - Baby Dean Burback - born on Saturday October 5! Everyone's healthy and doing great :) thanks for all the love & support!
Save the date for these upcoming
family events you might want to check out!
Extended Day Family Night
Launched in October 2000, Lights on Afterschool is a nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The event is meant to draw attention to the many ways programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things and discover new skills! While the actual night is October 24, we invite you to celebrate with us on Thursday November 14 from 5-7PM in the Birch Cafe for Bingo & Pizza. This event will be hosted by Birch Lake Extended Day Staff and District Leadership staff. Ms. Stephanie will stop by to say hi with Dean!
BearScare Family Fun Run / Walk!
