PRINCIPAL'S
CORNER
Hello
Hawk Community!
Thank you to everyone that was
able to attend Open House/Meet the Teacher Night. We had a great
turnout and I hope you were able to navigate through the building
and visit all of your child's teachers as needed that evening. We
want to also thank everyone who was able to come to the PTSA Craft
Fair this past weekend... we always have tons of vendors with lots
of great items!
Homecoming week is fast approaching! Monday, September 27th, we
will kick off the homecoming festivities with a parade that begins
at 6:30pm. The parade route will be the same as it has been the
past couple of years... we will start at the parking lot of Legacy
Church of Christ just down the road on Mid Cities and then work our
way up eastbound side of Mid Cities and enter the FAAC parking lot
and then proceed into the stadium stands at the FAAC for a
Homecoming Pep Rally. We will have our Homecoming Carnival
immediately following the pep rally and it will be located just
outside the west end of the stadium, between the FAAC and our
tennis courts. You do not want to miss out on this fun
evening!
Also for Homecoming Week we will have a special dress up day each
day of the week for our students. Monday (9/27) = Disco, Tuesday
(9/28) = Hawaiian, Wednesday (9/29) = Country, Thursday (9/30) =
Rock, and Friday (10/1) = Dress Nice. Our Homecoming football game
is Friday, October 1st at 7:30pm vs Azle and our Homecoming theme
is a music theme as you could tell by the dress up days... we are
going to "Amp Out Azle". Our Homecoming King & Queen will be
crowned at halftime during that evening's ballgame. Last, our
Homecoming festivities will conclude with a dance on Saturday
(10/2) evening at 7pm in the BHS Cafeteria.
Thank you for your active involvement in the life of BHS! Your
participation in your child's high school education and the
activities they are involved in is what makes the Hawk Community
second to none!
GO HAWKS!
Take care - Mr. Wells

C.O.R.E.
Community of
Respect Everywhere
Community of Respect Everywhere, C.O.R.E., is an ongoing
initiative throughout Birdville ISD backed by the philosophy that
promotes positive and safe learning climates while developing
responsibility, accountability and respect. Each of us teaches
character education by the way we talk, the behaviors we model, the
conduct we tolerate, the deeds we encourage, and the expectations
we transmit.
BISD's C.O.R.E. is a deliberate effort to help individuals
understand, care about, and act upon core values. The district's
curriculum has opportunities to engage students in thoughtful
discussion and reflection regarding ethical and moral choices, thus
developing critical thinking skills and understanding of personal
and cultural differences.
Exposing students to the Community of Respect Everywhere philosophy
helps create safe and caring learning environments that support
academic development, fosters qualities that will help students be
successful citizens, and lays the foundation for continued success
in lifelong endeavors. C.O.R.E. is meant to teach a set of values
that will last a lifetime.

BHS THEATRE

RUMORS by Neil
Simon - October 21-23 at 7:30PM and October 24 at
2:30PM
At its
start, several affluent couples gather in the posh suburban
residence of a couple for a dinner party celebrating their host's
tenth anniversary. When they arrive, they discover there are no
servants, the hostess is missing, and the host - the deputy mayor
of New York City - has shot himself through the earlobe. Comic
complications arise when, given everyone's upper class status, they
decide they need to do everything possible to conceal the evening's
events from the local police and the media..
See our
web site for rehearsal information, performance dates, and ticket
information. Ticket prices and sales information will be in the
next PTSA Newsletter.
Booster
Club
We have a new bumper sticker that will be sent to all of our
booster club members once we receive them, along with membership
cards. We will also have the stickers for sale at our shows. Pick
one up for $3.00 and support BHS Theatre!
