At GHNO, we love celebrating the birthdays of our scholars in a special way! Instead of (or in addition to) birthday treats, families can donate a Birthday Book to the classroom library in honor of their scholar’s big day.
Scholars may bring their book to class and even share why they chose it. Younger students might even have their book read aloud by the teacher! Each book will have a special bookplate sticker with the scholar’s name and birthday, so everyone knows it’s their gift.
During each birth month, these books will be on display for all to see and enjoy. Over time, scholars can create a lasting legacy by donating a new book each year—what a wonderful gift to their classmates and school!
We’ll also celebrate by sharing pictures of our scholars with their Birthday Books in the Headmaster’s letter.
This tradition is optional, but it’s a joyful way to share the love of reading on a special day!
