Birthday Cards for ECM
Help Youth in Detention Celebrate April Birthdays
One of the organizations supported through this year's Church School Lenten Giving project still needs our help. Episcopal City Mission is an agency that provides chaplaincy services for the ongoing spiritual needs of youth in St. Louis area juvenile detention centers. As part of CSMSG's outreach ministries, parishioners from our church host birthday parties at the St. Louis County Detention Center complete with pizza, soda, presents, games, favors, and birthday cake. Due to the sheltering in place orders as a result of the coronavirus, our volunteers will not be able to attend the April birthday party but they will supply the center with the items needed to recognize April birthdays.

How can Church School families help with the birthday party? Make birthday cards for youth celebrating an April birthday! All it takes are some simple art supplies and a little creativity. Decorate cards with uplifting bible verses and simple birthday wishes. Completed cards may be dropped off in the container marked "Birthday Cards for ECM" located underneath the bench in the Page Garden on the north side of the church. Please drop off completed cards by Wednesday, April 8, so they may be used for the party on April 10. Please contact Mary Beth Tipton with any questions.
