Dear Wesleyan Family,
First and foremost, as a valued member of the Bishop family, we hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. We urge you to heed the precautions and guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to avoid the Coronavirus if possible. On that same note, the NCWC leadership has been working tirelessly to ensure the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff amid this pandemic. But while Wesleyan implements unprecedented safety and operational plans, with changes occurring daily, we are still working hard to fulfill our educational mission and help our students complete the semester successfully.
Although the next several weeks may bring uncertainties, our work must continue. Our strength as a college for over six decades has been linked to the involvement and support of our alumni, donors and friends. It has been no surprise that many of you have been reaching out to offer support to our students. If you desire to help, an
online gift
to the Day for Wesleyan event on or before March 26 is your opportunity to make a positive impact. Although you can support an area of campus meaningful to you, gifts to the Wesleyan Fund will give the College the ability to respond to the greatest needs and concerns as they arise. With the support of our Wesleyan family, we will prevail!
Finally, we encourage alumni and friends to stay connected with
Wesleyan
and other alumni friends through the
alumni Facebook page
and other social media venues. Words of encouragement and hope to NCWC, and to each other, will help see us through these difficult times of social distancing. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you,
Eddie Coats
Vice President of Advancement

Many of you are struggling with anxiety, fear, and elevated stress during this viral outbreak. Because it is important to remain as healthy as you can, please consider these simple suggestions to find balance in your life during this time.
- If you have a faith or belief system, lean into that. Speak with your Pastor, Rabbi, Priest, Pujari, Imam, or other elders in your church/temple. My faith and prayer always helps to center and calm me.
- Practice some mindfulness meditation. https://www.mindful.org/meditation/mindfulnes-getting-started/.
- Take a 24-hour break from social media and the news.
- Take a walk in nature.
- Spend time with your pet (if you have one).
- Binge watch some funny TV shows or movies.
- Get plenty of sleep and stay hydrated.
- Read a book. If you like mysteries, I suggest anything by Harlan Coben.
