Bishop Canevin High School | JULY 2019
From Principal Michael Joyce
Greetings!

Bishop Canevin is a community that is proud of its past, excited about its future, and is thriving in its present. I wanted to share the following examples of how our Crusaders continued to raise the bar and enhance our school’s well-deserved reputation in all areas this past academic year.

  • For the second year in a row a Bishop Canevin student earned a perfect ACT score
  • A current Bishop Canevin student is under 2019-2020 National Merit Scholar consideration
  • Sarah Heinz House "Youth of the Year" Awardee
  • An Outstanding Student of the Month from the Pittsburgh Catholic
  • A recipient of the KDKA Extra Effort Award
  • A recipient of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club's "Student of Distinction Award"
  • Total scholarships awarded to the Class of 2019 totaling $3,856,100 or $167,656 per student

I would love your feedback about the Crusader Journal e-Newsletter and all things Bishop Canevin. Please feel free to contact me at joycem@bishopcanevin.org .

I hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer!

Phase One of the Model Room Project Completed!

Phase One of the B113 Model Room Project is complete! The room is freshly painted and has been equipped with wall-to-wall dry erase boards and a state of the art Aquos Board. See more photos here.

For an overview of how this type of technology can enhance learning and instruction check out this link.

Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for further updates in lighting, carpeting, and furniture. Once completed, this room will serve as a model that we hope to replicate in an effort to enhance the educational experience for current and future Crusaders!
