Achievement Award Nominations now being accepted

Bishop Chatard High School presents its Achievement Awards at the school’s Annual Fund Dinner to honor faculty and staff, alumni, community members and parent volunteers who epitomize the Catholic mission and values lived out daily at the Archdiocese of Indianapolis North Deanery High School. Presented annually since 1994, the Achievement Award is Bishop Chatard’s highest non-academic honor. It recognizes the important role the extended community plays in educating, nurturing and forming today’s students — tomorrow’s leaders.

Nominations for the 2019-2020 Achievement Awards are being accepted through Wednesday, April 1. Click here to read more about each category, view a list of past recipients and submit your 2019-2020 nomination.

Campus Ministry
Service Hour Requirement Changes
Due to the current unprecedented health crisis, Bishop Chatard Director of Campus Ministry Steven Patzke, service coordinators Jeff and Jackie Bach, and Vice President of Mission & Ministry Deacon Rick Wagner have altered the BCHS 2019-2020 service hour requirements.

The decision has been made to  waive the service hour requirement for the 2019-2020 school year . All students will receive a ‘C’ (C = complete) on their final grade report.

Many agencies the students would normally serve are not accessible at this time and may not be accessible for the foreseeable future. In addition, it is important to comply with the concept of social distancing, not wanting to put students in potentially unsafe situations. Click here for more information. If there are questions regarding service or MobileServe, please contact Jeff Bach at  jdbach@bishopchatard.org  or Jackie Bach  jbach@bishopchatard.org .
Drivers Education Registration
Drivers Education registration is still open, and at this time the plan is to proceed as scheduled. If that plan changes, we will communicate that as soon as possible. Register here .

Art Club Creates Memories for Children in Pakistan
Looking for some uplifting moments in the midst of our world's health crisis? Here it is ...

The Bishop Chatard Art Club members recently sent their artwork to Pakistan as part of the annual Memory Project. In the project, personal photos from a Memory Project participating school are sent to BCHS, where our students sketch the portraits and then send them back to the children at the school. Sometimes these sketches are the only photos a student will have of themselves.

Sketches from the 2019-2020 Memory Project were of children in Pakistan. The joy on the faces of these lovely children illustrates the healing power of art. Click here to watch the video.
