News & Events
Current news from BCHS
Bishop Chatard is committed to keeping you up to date with changes impacting our school that result from efforts to contain COVID-19. The school's leadership team is working to define the academic schedule for the month of April, as well as reschedule activities that have been postponed, and those decisions will be communicated as soon as information is available.

Throughout this health crisis, Bishop Chatard will continue to send the weekly parent newsletter. In addition, we encourage you to check the Bishop Chatard website regularly, including our Coronavirus webpage, to be sure that you have seen all emails and messages. This webpage is a resource for you to access Bishop Chatard documents, emails that have been sent, and videos showing how Trojans are spending their time. Click the blue bar below to view this page.
Deadline to submit Achievement Award nominations is April 1

Bishop Chatard High School presents its Achievement Awards at the school’s Annual Fund Dinner to honor faculty and staff, alumni, community members and parent volunteers who epitomize the Catholic mission and values lived out daily at the Archdiocese of Indianapolis North Deanery High School. Presented annually since 1994, the Achievement Award is Bishop Chatard’s highest non-academic honor. It recognizes the important role the extended community plays in educating, nurturing and forming today’s students — tomorrow’s leaders.

Nominations for the 2019-2020 Achievement Awards are being accepted through Wednesday, April 1. Click here to read more about each category, view a list of past recipients and submit your 2019-2020 nomination.
Tech Counter hours during e-learning
The BCHS Tech Counter will be available “in the cloud” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days. Email  gethelp@bishopchatard.org  with school technology questions. This is available for teachers, students and parents. A response will be provided as quickly as possible.

iPad Updates
Parents, our Tech Team is requesting your help. We have iPad or Apps that are out of date and need to be updated. Typically, the Tech Team pushes these updates remotely, however, with so many devices at home it takes considerably longer to get to all of them.

To that end, we ask for your help with the following:
  • Please make sure your child's iPad is up to date with the latest iOS 13.4. To do this, go to
  • Setting > General > Software Updates > Download & Install (If available)

  • Next, make sure all Apps are up to date. To do this, go to the App “Student” -- it's a purple App with a white leaf.
  • There will be an update section on the right side of the screen
  • Once pressed, you should have the option to update individually or all at once.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping our devices updated so that learning may continue!
Trojans Helping Trojans
Support our Community
Bishop Chatard is grateful for the support of so many! During this difficult time, let’s show our Trojan support for these local businesses, owned by BCHS alumni, school families, and many of our BCHS sponsors and donors. They support BCHS throughout the year, and now it is our turn to support them so that they can keep their business and staff thriving.

Live like a Trojan! We will remain united and strengthened in our efforts to care for one another. Click here to view the list of restaurants and other local businesses.

Campus Ministry
Service Hour Requirement Changes
Due to the current unprecedented health crisis, Bishop Chatard Director of Campus Ministry Steven Patzke, service coordinators Jeff and Jackie Bach, and Vice President of Mission & Ministry Deacon Rick Wagner have altered the BCHS 2019-2020 service hour requirements.

The decision has been made to  waive the service hour requirement for the 2019-2020 school year . All students will receive a ‘C’ (C = complete) on their final grade report.

Many agencies the students would normally serve are not accessible at this time and may not be accessible for the foreseeable future. In addition, it is important to comply with the concept of social distancing, not wanting to put students in potentially unsafe situations. Click here for more information. If there are questions regarding service or MobileServe, please contact Jeff Bach at  jdbach@bishopchatard.org  or Jackie Bach  jbach@bishopchatard.org .
Campus Ministry e-learning resources
Prayer, Scripture study, online Mass, talks, books, and reflections: BCHS Campus Ministry has created an extensive list of resources for growing in one’s faith life while at home. Something for everyone in the family!

We hope you can use any and all of these resources during this time. Click here for more information. Contact Steven Patske at spatzke@bishopchatard.org with any questions.
