Throughout the year, the Bishop Chatard community honors the military veterans who have served our nation, and we continue to pray for the safety of the men and women serving in today’s Armed Forces.

Bishop Chatard would like to pay a special honor to our alumni who are veterans or active duty military. Stop the Spread of Germs this Flu Season
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests the following tips to keep our school clean during flu season. Please join us in keeping our school germ free by doing the following:

  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. Your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine. Please stay home if your temperature exceeds 100.
  • While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use germ gel. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like the flu.

While attendance is important, we ask that you please keep sick children home for at least 24 hours to minimize the exposure of other students.

Thanks for your support!
