Bishop Grimes Announces Four New Hires for Fall 2021

Bishop Grimes is excited to announce the hiring of three teachers and one staff member ahead of the 2021-2022 academic year.

Brittany Almonte

Office of Academic Affairs; Advisor, Counselor 


Ms. Almonte joins Bishop Grimes with several years of experience working in higher education as both an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Professor at Bryant and Stratton College here in Syracuse. 


She earned her Masters in School Counseling from Oswego State University in 2014, and a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from New York Institute of Technology. Ms. Almonte is a former Collegiate athlete and has spent over ten years as a basketball coach in the local area.

Danielle Carter

Music


Ms. Carter joins us after a semester student teaching here at Bishop Grimes.


She recently earned a Masters in Music Education: Teacher Preparation from Syracuse University in 2021, and also earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music from SU in 2018.


As a student at Syracuse, Ms. Carter won first-place at the OCC Indoor Percussion Ensemble at State Championships in both 2015 and 2018.

Gina Kulak

Theology


Ms. Kulak joins Bishop Grimes having served as the Assistant Director of Faith Formation at Sacred Heart for the last decade. There she organized retreats, and brings experience in the classroom having served as a teacher at both St. Mary’s School in Baldwinsville, and St. Patricks School in Oneida. 


Ms. Kulak is currently pursuing a Masters of Theology at Franciscan University at Steubenville and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oswego State University with a degree in Education.

Matthew Vural

Math


Mr. Vural joins Bishop Grimes with nearly 30 years of teaching experience, including over 20 years at Manlius Pebble Hill School as a Science, Math, and Computer Skills teacher as well as a Cross Country coach. His position at BG is a newly created role in the Math department, focused on a remedial paced Algebra class.


He also has experience internationally having lived and taught abroad in Istanbul, Turkey. 


Mr. Vural is a Duke University graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. There he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
