Bishop Grimes To Host Traveling Icon of Saint Joseph; Bishop Lucia Visits and Celebrates Mass
The Bishop Grimes community awaits the arrival of the traveling Icon of Saint Joseph, which arrives today and is scheduled to be showcased in the school chapel beginning Sunday, March 21.

To begin our week of reflection we welcomed Bishop Douglas J. Lucia as our celebrant for the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mass earlier this morning. Bishop Grimes was afforded the opportunity to host the Icon through the Office of Vocations and the diocesan-wide, year-long, "Year of Vocations" and "Year of St. Joseph".

“We are very excited to be able to provide our students, faculty, and staff with the unique opportunity of having the traveling icon present in our school,” said Assistant Principal Pat Kinne ’98. “This privilege allows each of us the opportunity to pause and reflect upon the important role that St. Joseph played in the Holy Family, as well as the role model of faith, obedience, and leadership.”

Throughout the week students will be present with the Icon in the school Chapel, and will participate in a Rosary for Vocations and Eucharistic Adoration & Litany of Saint Joseph.

At the end of mass, Bishop Lucia bestowed a gift upon the Bishop Grimes students and faculty: a free day off, to be used at Principal Headd's discretion. With Bishop's blessing, we are excited to announce BG will head into an early spring break, with no school on Friday, March 26th, as we prepare for the Easter Season.
