As we watch the footage of the devastating effects that Hurricane Matthew has had on the people of Haiti, we cannot help but be moved to do what we can to help relieve the massive suffering and loss that the Haitian people are experiencing. Our faith in Jesus calls us to reach out to them and provide whatever relief we can to help them survive this national catastrophe that has crippled their ability to survive this natural disaster.
I ask the people of the Diocese of Pennsylvania to do what they can as individuals and in community to reach out to the people of Haiti in prayer and support of the Episcopal Church's response to this devastating storm. Our commitment to ensuring their well-being will embody the spirit of Christ in their midst.
We pray for their health and safety in these particularly difficult times.
Yours in faith,
The Rt. Rev, Daniel G. P. Gutierrez
