BISHOP O.C. ALLEN, III APPOINTED TO THE 
ATLANTA HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION BY 
MAYOR KEISHA LANCE BOTTOMS
(ATLANTA, GA) – December 14, 2020 - Nationally renowned religious and human rights trailblazer and best-selling author, Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen, III, Presiding Bishop, Senior Pastor of the Vision Cathedral of Atlanta, Executive Director of Vision Community Foundation Inc., and CEO of iElevate+ TV Network, has been appointed by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to serve as a member of the Atlanta Human Relations Commission for the City of Atlanta. Bishop Allen previously served as a member of the prestigious Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) appointed by President Barack Obama (2013-2016), and on a number of boards to include Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms LGBTQ Advisory Board. He currently serves as the Southern Regional co-chair of the DNC LGBT Advisory Board. 

Allen’s appointment to the Human Relations Commission is for a term of three (3) years and was effective upon the Atlanta City Council’s confirmation on December 7, 2020. The City of Atlanta has established a Human Relations Commission (HRC) to promote mutual respect and understanding within the city of Atlanta. The HRC consists of seven commissioners that focus their efforts on the elimination of discrimination in public accommodations, private employment and housing and initiates activities in keeping with the City’s mission. 

In April 2020, Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen, III appeared on "Good Morning America (ABC)" speaking with show host Amy Robach about his battle with COVID-19; during his segment he provided hope and inspiration to viewers during the Pandemic of 2020.

In 2014, Bishop Allen inducted into the prestigious Martin Luther King Jr. International Board of Preachers of Morehouse. He attended Morgan State University, Morehouse College, and Harvard University-Harvard Extension School where he studied Philosophy and Religion. He was a Fellow at the Princeton Theological Seminary Black Theology and Leadership Institute.
