Bishop Search & Transition Committees:

Desired Skills and Gifts Now Available

Hello Friends!

We pray this email finds you well and looking forward to a Spirit filled Pentecost season.

As we look forward to the special meeting on June 14, we wanted to give you an opportunity to review and pray about the work of the Search and Transition Committees. The work of the two committees requires prayerful discernment and deep commitment to serving the diocese.

It is our hope to fill both committees with members who reflect the heart and diversity of our Diocese. All of us have worked hard to get to the place we are in today, a place where we are ready to move forward in hopeful anticipation of a new Bishop.

The applications for both committees will go live on the afternoon of June 14 and will close on June 29. Please note, if you are selected, you will be required to attend a leadership retreat with our consultant at Camp Weed from August 22-23, 2025.

The Rev. Rachel Hill, Grace Mission, has written a beautiful prayer for us to pray together as we surrender our hearts and minds to God in this process.

Please pray with us:

A Prayer of Surrender

Father,

Into your hands we commend our diocese, past, present and future,

trusting in your unfailing love and full redemption.

Forgive us for our desire to control and for the lack of love that has distracted and divided us.

Deliver us from all selfish ambition and from the smallness of our human agendas,

that we may seek first your Kingdom and your righteousness.

Anoint with wisdom and the Holy Spirit those who will serve to guide the election process, and unite us all in a spirit of discernment and fervent prayer.

Raise up a bishop for this diocese

who loves you with their whole heart,

who will faithfully feed and tend your flock,

effectively lead us in mission, and humbly serve,

that together we may bring honor and glory to your name.

We ask all these things in the name the Good Shepherd,

our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

With gratitude,

The Rev. Sarah Minton
