In Service to Others

The Alumni Department provides service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second Wednesday of each month, preparing and packaging meals for the daily lunch line. We normally volunteer from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
St. Lawrence Haven is the St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program. St. Lawrence Haven is located behind Holy Cross Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. Approximately 300-500 meals are served each day. The staff at St. Lawrence Haven is very appreciative of the assistance we provide and we are very thankful for the alumni and friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules to help with this service endeavor!

If you are interested in helping, please email Terri Kernan at tkernan@cdeducation.org. We would love to have you join us!

Watterson 101: Know the Eagle Facts
A look at ACT scores shows that Bishop   Watterson  students are well prepared for college-level work. A five-year summary shows that BWHS student ACT scores in each of the four categories (English, Mathematics, Reading and Science) are above the ACT college readiness benchmark scores. In addition, our school's composite average over the past five years is well above the average for the State of Ohio.

"We enjoy seeing Bishop Watterson High School applicants because, academically, the students are very well prepared for college course work. Likewise, many of the students from Bishop Watterson value the same things we do at the University of Dayton: learning, leadership, service and community! There's an undeniable 'fit' between Bishop Watterson Bishop Watterson students and the University of Dayton, and we all are blessed because of it!"
Carolyn Nichwitz, University of Dayton Senior Admissions and Financial Aid Counselor for Central Ohio

"At Ohio University, we are always pleased to see Bishop Watterson students apply for admission. Over the years, we've seen Watterson students demonstrate a broad portfolio of academic preparation in their application materials. It's clear that they have been exposed to rigorous, intellectually stimulating coursework, and they seem to appreciate the importance of engagement in every facet of academic life."
Candace J. Boeninger, Ohio University Assistant Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Director of Undergraduate Admissions
