A Note From Our Principal
Dear Alumni,

It has been a difficult two weeks for the Bishop Watterson  and St. Brendan communities. As many of you may be aware, Payton Young, a student at Bishop Watterson, went missing on January 21. I ask for your continued prayers and support of the Young family as we all hope for Payton to return home quickly.

Deacon Chris Campbell
Principal

Alumni Department Launches Eagle Mentoring Network
Are you a graduate of Bishop Watterson or a  parent of an alum or current student?
Are you established in your chosen field?
Do you ever think about using your professional experience to help young people getting started, or someone with a great interest in your profession?
The Bishop Watterson Alumni Department is launching the Eagle Mentoring Network to assist members of the BWHS family in establishing a career or a new career. To do this we
need mentors in the Columbus community. If you are willing to mentor a BWHS grad through networking, etiquette coaching, interview coaching, and resume/cover letter review in addition to being a sounding board and offering suggestions and encouragement, please contact us!

Alumni in the News

Washington Hired at Michigan
Bishop Watterson alumnus Al Washington '02 was hired as a defensive assistant coach for the University of Michigan football team. The BWHS Athletic Hall of Famer spent the 2017 season coaching at the University of Cincinnati after five years coaching and recruiting at his alma mater, Boston College, where he played defensive tackle. As an assistant coaching the defensive line, running backs and special teams, Washington helped develop running back Andre Williams into a 2013 Heisman Trophy finalist.

In Service to Others - St. Lawrence Haven

Class of '63 is well represented at St. Lawrence
Haven.  Center:  Joe Hill, Back row:  Joseph and
 Patricia Breen Thomas.

The Alumni Department provides service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second
Wednesday of each month, preparing and packaging meals for the daily lunch line. We normally volunteer from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.

St. Lawrence Haven is the St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program, located behind Holy Cross Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. Approximately 300-500 meals are served each day. The staff at St. Lawrence Haven is very appreciative of the assistance we provide and we are very thankful for the alumni and friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules to help with this service endeavor!

If you are interested in helping, please email Terri Kernan at tkernan@cdeducation.org.
We would love to have you join us!
