Father Child Retreat 2020
Last weekend at Camp Allen, a combined total of 42 Dads and thier children enjoyed a day of fishing, archery, canoeing and hiking. Although many of the families had not seen eachother in nearly 9 months, their magical time at the retreat did not miss a beat. Families teamed up in canoes within seconds as new friendships formed and old friendships resumed. Some canoes had dads and kids, some with just kids, and some with a dad and someone else’s kid. They formed one BIG family quickly with some dads serving the favorite meals of pancakes and bacon and spaghetti and garlic bread while others watched the kids play in the dirt.
This year has been uncertain and chaotic. However, one thing that is certain is that this was a much needed time of connection with God, with each other, and with Fr. Roman for the children and Dads. Another great retreat that they will never forget.
