Oh, boy!!! We might become famous in the world of science and anthropology.......we, at SVQ, have the missing link!!! Okay, not in those two arenas, but we do have the link for our OESD Virtual Quilting Event. Date for the event is October 22, a Thursday, at 10 o'clock Arizona time. It is a FREE event for you, and as before, register for the class with the link provided here:
If you can't attend the event live, you will be sent a link to view the event for the following 24 hours and you will still be able to take advantage of the specials given in the program for that same 24-hour window. If you are able to watch it live, you will be a part of the Q and A during the class. The class will be on your computer at your home, so you can watch it in your jammies with coffee or tea on the side! On the day of the event, registered people will be contacted 1.5 hours before the event with the link for the program and a final reminder to you. We had great participation on our first event with OESD and very positive comments from you in person and by email, so I know it was a success for you! The specials you will be given are only available through the event, and a lot of people took advantage of the great pricing and bundles that OESD put together for you. So sign up now, or at least 24 hours before the event to be eligible for everything. If we get good response again, we will be able to offer you more educational programs.
We will be getting more info. on this event as it draws closer, but I can tell you that there will be a lot of learning and demonstrations going on! This event begins Oct. 20 and continues through Nov. 6. It is their first ever online event and show, and will include instructors Leah Day, Leslie Rutland, Sarah Maxwell, Karla Gerome and more!!! Janet George, for example, will be teaching Beginnings Pantographs! And Elizabeth Allen with Wedding Ring Bed Runner. Interested in knowing more about Longarm as a business??? Then don't miss keynote speaker Dr. Elizabeth Townsend Gard who will cover legal and business issues for you. The event is also FREE to you and your registration now will enter you into a LIVE giveaway, festival updates and all the ways to participate.
Sometimes we can't always do things as we would like, but we're managing to find some great work-arounds for you. KimberKamp was so great....most of the ladies got nearly the entire quilt/embroidery top finished during the camp, with no homework! We were able to set up with the necessary six feet of separation and masks were worn except during picture-taking and eating. Kampers requested an Open Sew Day for Kimberbell in which they can finish the quilt entirely. We were able to set this for Oct. 27, and anyone can attend and finish up, or work on, any Kimberbell project. We have even more of the total line of Kimberbell Basic fabrics, kits, CDs, embellishment packs, buttons, tea towels, purse clasps, and more in our rapidly growing Kimberbell section. More of the shiny decorative sheets are on order and should be here as you read this!
The quick and easy KimberKrew class will meet Friday morning, 10-16-20 to make tea towels! Come see all the samples we have made up. They are fast to make, and oh so good loking! Please sign up so we can manage the 6' separation in the classroom.
One Block Wonder will be held Wed. 10-14-20, and you can join this class from whatever stage you happen to be in---beginning, layout on our large tables and placement, finishing. Everyone works at their own pace on this one, and Barbara H. is able to keep you moving in the right direction. Join us, please.
Monday, 10-19-20, Jeri will be teaching OESD Embroidery, and the project will be the lingerie bags sampled in the class. In the afternoon, she will be teaching Software Inspirations, from 1 to 4, using Designer Plus software,
Oh, and guess what just arrived??? The brand new BIG Book of Machine Quilting, packed with all the info. on quilting, and just as necessary to own as the Big Book of Feet and Big Book of Sergers, and the Big Book of Embroidery, which are all in stock right now and necessary for your library. What great gifts these are, even if they are from you to yourself!
A new class from Andi will be a beginning quilting class titled "Jump Start " ; it is a two day, back-to-back class teaching you the basics of quilting. It will be Oct. 23-24 from 9-4. Andi has co-authored books for quilting and pattern designs, and this will be a very good educational background for you to jump start your love of quilting and piecing. Please sign up and get the supply list for this one, and know that we have in stock the rulers, mats, cutters, etc. that we consider to be the best in ease of use and price. We even have a few starter kits for you which will include mat, rotary cutter, basic ruler, etc. So check with us first. And don't forget your machine!
BIG BLAST: Oct. 17, Saturday, is our SPECIAL BERNINA SUPER SATURDAY!!! One day only to get any BERNINA over $4,000 with NO INTEREST FOR 72 MONTHS!!! Purchase must be on your BERNINA Credit Card, and if you don't have one, we can help you get qualified. Please.......if you're going to take advantage of this special offer, come in BEFORE Saturday to select your purchase and get qualified. To take advantage of this, any purchase must be rung through on Oct. 17 ONLY, and we don't want to run out of time or find a last minute glitch! We have a 20 page catalog for you to check out listing all the BERNINA specials!
Just arrived are our two new pieces from Unique Furniture. Now that we're getting back to "normal", or some silly semblance of normal, I'll still be telling you weekly about the classes that are going to be held. I hope this works for you! I feel like the rainbow isn't overhead yet, and that we're just dipping our toes in the "what is sure to come soon" world, but know that we're optimistic about how we're all trying to handle things. Sometimes, that involves some zigs and zags, a few apologies, a few screwed up schedules and delays, but we keep moving in the right direction and soon enough, we'll be immersed in that rainbow of color and light! Hope to see you soon, and if you have any questions about all that we're doing, don't hesitate to call or send an email. Have a GREAT and PRODUCTIVE week!!!
