Greetings!
Are you familiar with the phrase, "crumbs make a cake?" Well, you should be!

Every bit and piece of support from people like you help make SEM what it is! Whether you volunteer, donate, or spread the word about SEM, it is another piece of the puzzle that truly matters!

After one month of working with us, one of our learners has already gained employment. She says it's because SEM 'won't give up on you.' Click here to read more.

In conjunction with SOME (So Others Might Eat), our learners went through a visioning session that started a discussion about some of the barriers they face on a daily basis while pursuing their education, as well as potential solutions. Click here to read more.

The DC Adult and Family Literacy Coalition (DC-AFLC) hosted Adult Education and Family Literacy Week this month. Adult learners from programs across the city entered an essay contest, and one of SEM's participants was a winner!  Click here to learn more.

As we continue to educate, mentor, and support the individuals we serve, we would like to say thank you! Thank you for your  support of SEM, and ask that you do not stop now. Your contributions really do make a significant difference in the lives of the many people who walk through our doors.

We encourage you to also spread the word!

Thank you!
