October Is National Breast Health Month

Breast Health Month is an important reminder to make routine screening a priority. Early detection can make a significant difference, helping identify breast cancer when it is most treatable.

  • Regular mammograms are an important part of breast cancer screening. Tahoe Forest Health System offers Genius™ 3D Mammography at both Tahoe Forest Hospital and Incline Village Community Hospital, providing advanced imaging technology close to home.

  • Make your health a priority this October. Schedule your mammogram today by calling (530) 582-6510.

Recovery-Friendly Workplace Lunch & Learn

Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Truckee-Tahoe employers are invited to join us for lunch and a conversation about building a recovery-friendly workplace, reducing stigma, and helping employees seek care sooner.

This workshop is presented by Crow’s Nest Ranch Sober Living & Outpatient in collaboration with the Truckee Chamber.

Employees often delay seeking help because they fear how their employer will respond. That fear increases isolation and stigma, and it keeps people from accessing care until things become a crisis.

This lunch-and-learn is designed for business owners, employers, executive staff, managers, and HR leaders who want a clear, practical framework for becoming a recovery-friendly workplace.

When employers make the statement first, employees are far more likely to seek help earlier, get support sooner, and return as healthier contributors to both the workplace and the community.

This initiative is endorsed by Nevada County Supervisor Hardy Bullock (District 5).
