New BBC Wildlife Documentary
The Alligators taking over America's golf courses - BBC
Last May, a crew from the British Broadcasting Corporation visited Kiawah to film the island's alligators as a part of a new wildlife documentary Cities: Nature's New Wild. The show highlights remarkable ways animals are adapting to urban growth.  Kiawah is featured in the third episode OutcastsWatch a preview here. The full episode will air in the U.S. later this year on PBS.  Thank you to the Kiawah Island Golf Resort for their collaboration with the Town on this exciting project.

2019 Tide Tables  
The 2019 Tide Tables are now available at the Municipal Center during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)   The 2019 Tide Tables are provided free of charge by SCDHEC's Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management (OCRM).  Click here for a desktop version

Business License Renewals
The Town began business license/contractor license renewals on January 1 . Applications renewed after February 28 will be  charged a late fee at 5% per month.
Attention Property Owners: 
All rental properties are required to have an annual business license based on the gross  receipts  for the property. If you rent your property on your own, you are required to obtain or renew your business license every year.  Click here to renew or obtain a business license.  If you use a rental agency, the agency will handle all the renewal paperwork and billing.  If you are having renovations done on your home, please make sure the contractors licenses/permits are current before any work is performed. Beachwalker County Park Closed Through April 
Beachwalker County Park will be closed to all visitors through early April while the park undergoes extensive construction. 
Scope of Work
  • Replacement of boardwalk from the parking lot to the existing showers and replacement of showers and changing rooms
  • New ADA-compliant parking spaces and paved access pathway to the boardwalk
  • Replacement of the gatehouse and traffic improvements to the entry of the park
St. John's Fire District - Child Safety Seat Installation
Did you know that St. John's Fire District helps install child safety seats? The STJFD has several certified car seat technicians on staff. You can set up an appointment by calling STJFD Headquarters at 843-559-9194. STJFD technicians will be happy to assist you with installation or answer any questions you may have.
